Mountains, Fields, Storms, Rainbows and Stars

Daily Prompt: Write a six-word story about what you think the future holds for you, and then expand on it in a post.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us SIX.

We never know what the future holds, but we can be prepared to face the inevitable. There’s nothing more imperative than learning how to walk your journey of life, that journey of a thousand miles.

Like some twenty-two year olds, I’m clueless about the future too, I’ve climbed mountains and I know that I’ll have to face uphill battles to get to me to the top.

Am I a dreamer? Absolutely, I dream big because life is too short not to.

That’s why I will come across fields, fields that will give me a vision as I walk towards the sun set. A flat plane that will put my body and mind at ease as I dream. Fields with blossoms to inspire me at dawn, sweet fragrances to keep me in a good mood reminding me that I have to keep walking.

Now, which walk is complete without a storm? That’s the time to find solace, a time to wait patiently, which we all do every now and then. This will remind me that there’s a time for everything while everything happens for a reason.

After a storm, there’ll be a rainbow, the sign of a promise, assurance that God is with me and it’s time to walk out in faith.

The sky is the limit and if you can go that far you can shine bright like a star.

I’ll never know what the future holds, but I can always be ready to face every mountain, dream at every field, cry hopelessly during every storm only to smile at every rainbow knowing that I can shine brighter than every star.

It’s not all about winning, it’s not all about losing either, it’s about how I face everything, how I learn from my mistakes, only to do them again and again and learn better.

It’s about how soon I get up when I fall, how I adapt to situations, adjust according to circumstances and attack my fears.

I’m sure, I will face all these in the future only to grow and be the better person that I should be.
